Meet Our Ambassadors

Hi, I'm Samiyyah! I have been skating for almost 10 years, with the last 5-6 as a member of our local youth synchronized skating team (Ice Cubes). I also perform/compete in individual and team events and exhibitions with both Illini FSC and CIFSC. Lead the Movement.
Become a Skating Beyond Ambassador!

Skating Beyond is a youth skater-led initiative that promotes sustainability and access in figure skating through:

  • skate reuse and recycling

  • creative upcycling

  • off-ice education for skaters

Creating long‑lasting change requires more than a program. It requires a movement!  We are looking for passionate skaters across the country to lead the charge in their local communities.  We invite you to join our efforts and lead this movement with us!

Why Become a Skating Beyond Ambassador?

As a Skating Beyond Ambassador, you aren't just a volunteer—you are a leader. You will have the opportunity to use your passion for the sport to create real impact in your local community and beyond.

  • Lead Nationwide: Represent your community in a national network of changemakers. Be the face of Skating Beyond at your local rink and in your local skating community.

  • Flexible Impact: Choose activities that fit your schedule and strengths, from organizing donations to leading science workshops using one or more of our ready-made kits.

  • Boost Your Resume: Gain impactful leadership experience and recognition.

What Ambassadors Do (Choose Your Path):

We provide the tools, you provide the passion. As a Skating Beyond Ambassador, you can:

  • Drive Donations: Collect used skates locally and distribute them to skaters and groups through grassroots channels.

  • Teach STEM: Host our "Skating Through Science" off-ice workshops at local summer camps, after-school programs, off-ice classes or clubs using our ready-made kits.

  • Teach Sustainability: Host skate craft workshops to teach fun ways to repurpose old skates, introducing the concept of sustainability to young skaters and allowing them to harness their creativity.

  • Advocate: Partner with rink managers to install and maintain donation bins or spread our mission through local media, community events, and social platforms.

  • Media/Documentation: Help us develop new tutorials, social media content, graphics or activity ideas and content that help us grow and continue to engage our national community.
